Cocora Valley, Salento & Filandia Exploration

Stop 1 - VALLE DE CÓCORA

Drive Time: 45 minutes from the hotel this iconic national park is home to the Quindío Wax Palm, Colombia's national tree and the world's tallest palm species, reaching up to 60 meters.

This is the only place in the world where the wax palm grows. The valley features stunning, misty green hills and a surreal landscape of colossal palms piercing the clouds. It is also home to the Andean condor, Colombia’s national bird.

Stop 2 - SALENTO, QUINDÍO

The most famous and colorful town in the region, known for its traditional architecture, vibrant main square, and the *Calle Real* lined with artisan shops. Salento serves as the gateway to Cocora Valley. Explore the town and enjoy a traditional

Colombian lunch.

 

Stop 3 - FILANDIA, QUINDÍO

Drive Time: 20-30 minutes from Salento known as the "Illuminated Hill of Quindío," Filandia is a charming town with brightly colored houses and a beautiful main square. It's slightly less touristy than Salento but equally captivating. Explore the main square and artist shops, visit the Mirador Colina Iluminada for panoramic views and watch the sunset over the rolling hills.

Coffee Farm Experience & Journey to Manizales

Hacienda Venecia Coffee Tour

Drive Time: 1h 45 minutes

An authentic working coffee farm nestled in the sweeping mountains of Colombia's coffee region, with 100 years of tradition. Tour Experience (approximately 2 hours):

• Start with a delicious cup of coffee

• Learn about the world of coffee and its origins

• Visit the coffee plantations

• Understand the entire process from cherry to cup

• Professional coffee tasting

Traditional Colombian lunch at the Hacienda.

 

Journey to Manizales 

Check-in at Hotel Termales El Otoño 

A luxury hotel known for its natural hot springs, spa facilities, and thermal pools. The perfect place to relax before the wedding festivities.

6:30 PM - Rehearsal Dinner at Restaurante Patrimonio known for its focus on local ingredients and traditional Colombian cuisine with a contemporary twist.

Cocora Valley

Temperature: 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F).

Rain is common, so layered clothing is essential. • Comfortable, moisture-wicking layers

• Light rain jacket

• Hat or cap

• Sturdy, waterproof walking shoes or hiking boots

• Activity Level: Easy to medium walk

 

Manizales

Manizales is at a higher elevation, making it significantly cooler. Expect temperatures between 10°C and 18°C (50°F to 64°F). The weather is often misty and cool. ⚠ Bring a jacket!
